As we celebrate the 113th Anniversary of our Mother Cathedral in 2008, it is important that we know our history and where we came from. St. Raphael of Brooklyn Festival

We are please to announce our fourth annual St. Raphael of Brooklyn Festival on Saturday, September 20, 2008. This festival will take place in the small parking lot of the church beginning at 11:00 am and going until 6:00 pm.

This year we are combining our festival with the State Street Block Party so it will be bigger and better than ever. There will be food, games, church tours and lots of other things. Please plan to attend. Click on the link for the festival flyer with all the details. Festival Flyer.

Hamelat El-Teeb "Card" Party

Mark Your Calendars for October 4!

The ladies of the Hamelat El-Teeb (Myrrh-Bearing Women) are hosting their third annual "card" party on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the Cathedral hall from 12:30 to 5:00 pm. At the "card" party, there will be numerous baskets and gift items that you may buy tickets for and place them in the various baskets or items you would like to win. At the end of the afternoon, there will be a drawing for each basket. Food and beverages will also be available.

This event is open to the public and the proceeds will go toward the Hamelat El-Teeb's 2008 project of continued beautification of the Cathedral hall. For additional information click here to download the flyer for the event.

St. Nicholas Day Celebration

St. Nicholas Cathedral will have its annual St. Nicholas Luncheon/Dance celebration on Sunday, December 7, 2008. This year, we will have the dinner/dance at El-Caribe immediately following the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.

Tickets are $120.00 each and will be sold weekly after Liturgy or by calling the Cathedral at (718) 855-6225 Elaine Khoury at (718) 748-2073, Norma Khoury at (718) 499-0034 or one of the other event chairpeople listed on the downloadable flyer. We are accepting sponsors for this event. Each $500.00 sponsor will receive one complimentary ticket. Proceeds from this event will go to help pay for the loan taken to complete our new roof last year. At present, we have about $125,000 left on the loan. Let's do our best to burn the mortgage this year!
