As we celebrate the 115th Anniversary of our Mother Cathedral in 2010, it is important that we know our history and where we came from. Cathedral to Welcome His Grace, Bishop ANTOUN for Ordination of Deacon Charles Baz

On September 26th (the feast of the repose of St. John the Theologian), we look forward to welcoming His Grace, Bishop ANTOUN who is celebrating his 50th anniversary in the holy priesthood this year. He will be ordaining our former seminarian (from the late 1990's), Deacon Charles Baz to the holy priesthood that day. Please join us as we honor our former dean on the occasion of his anniversary and join our voices and prayers with Deacon Charles and his family as we chant AXIOS! to the new priest.

Weekly Bible Studies to Begin in September

Beginning on Monday, September 20th (and each Monday thereafter) from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Cathedral hall, Fr. Thomas will hold a weekly Bible Study/Adult Education class.

The topic for the first hour will be the Gospel of St. Matthew (which is the topic for the 2011 Bible Bowl at the Parish Life Conference). The topic for the second hour will vary from week to week and will focus on topics of interest chosen by Fr. Thomas and the participants including moral issues, our life in the church, spiritual topics, etc.

We are please to announce our fifth annual St. Raphael of Brooklyn Festival on Saturday, October 2 2010. This festival will take place in the small parking lot of the church beginning at 11:00 am and going until 6:00 pm.

Hamelat El-Teeb "Card" Party

Mark Your Calendars for October 16!

The ladies of the Hamelat El-Teeb (Myrrh-Bearing Women) are hosting their third annual "card" party on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the Cathedral hall from 12:30 to 5:00 pm. At the "card" party, there will be numerous baskets and gift items that you may buy tickets for and place them in the various baskets or items you would like to win. At the end of the afternoon, there will be a drawing for each basket. Food and beverages will also be available.

This event is open to the public and the proceeds will go toward a new Hamelat El-Teeb's project of continued beautification of the Cathedral to be determined at a later time. For additional information click here to download the flier for the event.
